Tuesday, November 3, 10, & 17
1:30 - 3:30 pm
Course Topic: Culture, Arts, & Music
Description: The course will provide an in-depth
look into how films create meaning by examining
all the components of film language and how
these parts come together to produce the total
film experience. We will examine the visual and
sound elements, which are tools for the creation
of narrative and meaning in movies, through the
viewing of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1958 film “Vertigo.”
The ultimate goal of the course is to create
a deeper level of understanding of cinematic
grammar and visual literacy—to help participants
to “see,” not just watch films.
