BREAKING GROUND:
FERNECREST
In November 2024, Messiah Lifeways held a ceremonial
groundbreaking celebration for its new community,
Fernecrest. A sample cottage is projected to be
complete this fall with the first residents moving
in around mid-2027.
GRANT FUNDING
The PA Office of Budget named Messiah Lifeways as
a recipient of $1 million in funding through the 2024
Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).
Half of these dollars are allocated to the site preparation
and construction of Fernecrest and the other half will
support HVAC upgrades on the Messiah Lifeways at
Messiah Village campus.
PEACEMAKER AWARD
Messiah Village residents Warren and Theresa Eshbach
were named recipients of the World Affairs Council
of Harrisburg’s 2024 Peacemaker in Our Midst Award.
This award recognizes individuals and organizations
who foster unity among diverse groups and champion
peace in the work they do locally and beyond.
PATHWAYS INSTITUTE
ANNIVERSARY
This year, Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning®,
a program of Messiah Lifeways, is celebrating its 20th
anniversary. Since its start in 2005, it has offered more
than 2,800 courses and enriched the lives of 600+ older
adult learners. Learn more about the program, available to
